EU Consolidated List · UK OFSI · UN

EU and UK sanctions screening with ownership and control resolution.

A name match is only the start. ComplianceSuite screens customers, counterparties and payments against the EU Consolidated List, the UK sanctions list maintained by OFSI and UN measures, then resolves ownership and control so indirectly designated entities are caught before funds move.

    • EU, OFSI and UN lists with same-day updates
    • Ownership and control (50%+) resolution
    • Real-time payment and batch screening
    • Full audit trail on every match decision

Matching tuned for European name data

Transliteration, diacritics, patronymics and legal-form variants are handled natively, with configurable fuzzy thresholds per list and per risk appetite so false positives fall without weakening detection.

    • Phonetic and edit-distance matching with per-list thresholds
    • Date-of-birth, nationality and address corroboration
    • Vessel, aircraft, crypto address and BIC screening
    • Whitelisting with expiry and re-review

Ownership and control beyond the list

Ownership chains are aggregated across shareholders to identify entities that are majority-owned or otherwise controlled by a designated person, including combined holdings and control indicators.

    Payment screening in the flow

Inbound and outbound payments are screened in real time via API against names, addresses, countries and free-text fields, with hold, release and escalation workflows that meet operational SLAs.

    Reporting and asset freeze handling

Confirmed matches trigger freeze workflows with competent-authority notification templates, licence and derogation tracking, and periodic reporting extracts for the relevant national authority.

    • Freeze and reject decision records
    • Competent-authority notification packs
    • Licence and derogation register
    • Management and board reporting

    FAQ

    Regulator questions, answered.

    Which sanctions lists are covered?

The EU Consolidated Financial Sanctions List, the UK Sanctions List administered by OFSI, UN Security Council measures and OFAC SDN and Consolidated lists, plus optional national and internal watchlists. Lists are refreshed on publication and every change is versioned for audit.

    How is indirect designation handled?

Ownership data is aggregated across shareholders and layers to detect entities that are more than 50% owned by designated persons, and control indicators such as board appointment rights are assessed separately where ownership alone does not trigger a match.

Can screening run in real time on payments?

Yes. A synchronous API screens payment messages before release, typically within a few hundred milliseconds, with configurable behaviour on timeout and a full record of the list version used for each decision.

How do you evidence screening for a supervisor?

Every screening event records the input data, list version, matching configuration, candidate matches, the analyst decision and rationale, and the approver. That record is immutable and exportable, which is what supervisors and auditors typically request.
